Iron-stained coastal rock with a warm ochre and gold face patched in rust-red and maroon-purple oxide, interrupted by pale gray-white mineral bands. Angular fractures open into dark gaps, and tilted layering breaks the stone into flaking slabs. The crust is finely granular and sandy, with sparkling grains, scattered rust spots and translucent, glassy mineral veins. At ultra high resolution, grain, oxide and vein detail survives close inspection, macro work and large-format printing.
